Nirvana Enlightenment Ceremony which is carried out every year in the 7th month of the Chinese lunar year. It is the time for Chinese communities to pay tribute and homage to their ancestors through offering and prayers. Every year thousands of participant and members of the public take part in the 3 day ceremony event and this year we are expecting no exception."
The 18th Annual Nirvana Enlightenment Ceremony which is held from 15/08/08 to 17/08/08 (3 day Ceremony) in Nirvana Memorial Park, Semenyih. The annual Enlightenment Ceremony has been billed as the largest in South East Asia - Tens of thousand participant and family members make an annual pilgrimage to Nirvana Memorial Park, Semenyih to pay tribute and homage to their ancestors through offering and prayers during this annual “Festival of the Hungry Ghosts”.
“Hungry Ghost Festival” - a praiseworthy Chinese tradition that has been handed down through the centuries. It is an observance and an act of filial piety to departed parents and ancestors. The prayers were also chanted to bring about prosperity, good blessing and health for the participant and their family members. The 3-day prayers are meant to transcend and uplift departed souls to the Land of Eternal Bliss. The keen involvement by participants is ample testimony of the time-honored virtues of filial piety which is faithfully observed by the Chinese community.
For the past few months, NV Multi Corporation Bhd make a significant donation of RM100,000 to aid sufferers in China of the Sichuan earth quake victims and Myanmar Cylone disaster. This truly display and upkeep the NV Tradition of Caring and the concerted efforts to care and provide for the unfortunate. In conjunction with the Nirvana Enlightenment Ceremony special prayers are being conducted for the victims of both these disasters.
